Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1,402m] Transfer to the Hotel. (Car/Bus).

Once you arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu a representative from Gurkha Hikers Adventure will be waiting outside the airport gate according to your flight time who will take you to the Hotel. After you have settled in, a short briefing session will be conducted regarding the trip and if you have any questions, feel free to ask us. We are always ready to help you if you have any other activity which you would like to do besides the planned itinerary.

Day 02: Sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. “B”. (06-07 Hours).

After Breakfast we Proceed for sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur city 15 km from Kathmandu, known as city of Devotees and center of medieval art and architecture founded by King Anand Dev in 889 AD, visit Nyatpola temple, the most beautiful temple of Nepal, the 15th century palace of 55 windows, Golden gate and other place of Interest. Lunch Time: 1300hrs-14:00hrs PM: Visit Pashupatinath temple one of the most sacred Hindu shrine in the World. The holy river Bagmati and the burning ghats and also visit one of the oldest and biggest stupa of Boudhanath. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 03: Mountain Flight to Lukla [2,810 m],Trek to Phakdaing [2,640 m]. "B,L,D". Trek (40 m fly and 03-04 Hrs).

We take an early morning mountain flight to Lukla which will take around 35 min from Kathmandu. We will meet our supporting crew members in Lukla and begin our trek down to the Dudh Koshi River. We cross the furious river to walk along the terraced potatoes and wheat fields to enter the neighbourhood of Phakding for our first overnight stay in the Himalayas. Average trekking time is 03 to 04 hours.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar [3,440 m]. "B,L,D". Trek (06-07 Hrs).

The trek on this day begins after your breakfast as the trail passes through dense pine forest and rhododendron, We will be crossing the fearsome Dudh Koshi River twice on this day to finally enter the Sagarmatha National Park area. We will continue our trek on a smooth path to Namche Bazaar where you will see many yaks transporting goods to different parts of Everest Region. Nupla (5,885m), Kongde Ri (6,093m) and Thamserku(6,808m) will be rising majestically above us throughout the day. Average trekking time is 6 to 7 hours.

Day 05: Rest day at Namche [3,440 m] side trip to Everest view point. "B,L,D". Trek ( 04-05 Hrs).

This is a rest day in Namche Bazaar. It is extremely important to spend an extra day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize due to the decreasing air pressure and adapt the changed climatic condition. We will hike to the Everest View Hotel in Syangboche during the day time for extraordinary Mountain View of Ama Dablam and Mount Everest. Return back to Namche Bazaar for overnight stay. Average trekking time is 2-3 hours.

Day 06: Trek to Thame [3,800 m]. "B,L,D". Trek (04-05 Hrs).

After your body is prepared for the journey ahead we begin our trek to Thame along the path which is untouched by the modern civilization. During the trekking we pass a large array of prayer flags, Chorten and the carved mani stones. Average trekking time is 5-6 hours.

Day 07: Trek to Lungdung [4,500 m]. "B,L,D". Trek (06-07 Hrs).

The trek on this day is frequently uphill as the path passes by many old, walled Sherpa villages. You can experience varieties of flora and fauna while trekking on this day. We will walk through many Sherpa villages like Hungmo, Taramga, Marulung, where Sherpa people treat you with great hospitality and unique culture. You will often share the trail with Tibetan Yak Caravans, trading route to and from Namche to Tibet with the villagers. We will reach Lungdeng for our overnight stay. Average trekking time is 5-6 hours.

Day 08: Trek to Renjo Pass [5,417 m]. Gokyo [4,750 m]. "B,L,D". Trek (08-09 Hrs).

After your breakfast, we will continue our trek towards the Gokyo Lake crossing the first high pass named Renjo-La pass (5,415m). The path is steep to the pass and we walk down the sandy ridge. We walk pass a frozen stream along the rocky trail and also many yak Kharkas on our way to Gokyo. We will also see the twin Renjo Lakes before the stunning Gokyo Lake. You can witness the mesmerizing views of 7000 to 8000 meters peaks all around including Kalapathar, Tengboche Monastery, Ngozumba glaciers(longest glaciers in Himalaya having 36 km of length) and many more. Overnight stay at Gokyo village. Average trekking time is 5-6 hours.

Day 09: Hike to Gokyo Ri and back to Gokyo (4,700 meters). "B,L,D". Trek (06-07Hrs).

This is our second day in Gokyo. On this day we will be climbing the Gokyo Ri to witness the panoramic view of Cho Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and Tawache. After spending sometime in Gokyo Ri we will descend back to Gokyo village for overnight stay. Average trekking time is 6 to 7 hours.

Day 10: Trek to Dzongla (4,843 m) Via Chola-Pass. "B,L,D". Trek (08-09 Hrs).

After breakfast we slowly trek across the glacier towards Thangna on a path that twists around the persistently changing barrier. The view of Cho Oyu and Cholatse is just breathtaking on this day. A gradual ascend after lunch will take us across the deserted yak pastures and high into the Himalayas. You can find Himalayan Thar on today's trail so always be alert. Average trekking time is 6 to 7 hours.

Day 11: Trek to Lobuche [4,930 m]. "B,L,D". Trek (04-05 Hrs).

Today we will be crossing another high pass of the trek, the ferocious Cho La Pass at an elevation of 5,420 meters above the sea level. We will be beginning our day very early in the morning, around 4 or 5 am, to reach the pass 8 or 9 am. It is extremely dangerous to cross the pass during noon time due to strong wind. Once we reach at the top we will be rewarded with the views of the peaks that are superb all day and once at the saddle of the pass, the glaciers and immediate peaks seem to hover over us. The beauty and sense of achievement of crossing this pass is undescribable. After some refreshment at the top of the pass we gently descend down to Dzongla for our overnight stay alongside the steep north face of Cholatse. Average trekking time is 6 to 7 hours.

Day 12: Trek to Gorakchep [5,170 m]. / Everest Base camp [5,350 m]. trip in the afternoon. "B,L,D". Trek (08-09 Hrs).

After a cold night, the early morning sun brings some of the spectacular mountain views. After your breakfast we trek high on the flanks of Awi Peak, overhead the village of Chola and walk beyond the Cholatse Lake. The Chola Glacier flows sharply from a saddle between the cliffs of Cholatse and Taweche in a uneven and gorgeous display. We walk slighty uphill to witness the impressive Nuptse (7,745m), rising high above the Khumbu Glacier. We then continue further to join the Everest Base Camp trail and you will find the increase in the numbers of trekkers and Yak. We finally reach the settlement at Lobuche for our overnight stay. Average trekking time is 6 to 7 hours.

Day 13: Trek to Kalapattar [5,545 m]. And Back to Lobuche [4,250 m] "B,L,D". Trek (06-07 Hrs).

On this day we will be heading to Gorak Shep on a rocky trail along the Khumbu Glacier. After your Lunch at Gorak Shep we head upwards to the Everest Base Camp . From Everest Base Camp, one will experience the 360-degree mountain view of Pumori (7,145m), Lingtren (6,697m), Nuptse (7,745m), Everest (8,848m) and many other dazzling peaks. We will return back to Gorak Shep for overnight stay. Average trekking time is 8 to 9 hours.

Day 14: Trek to Chhukkung [4,730 m].Via Kongma-La Pass [5,535 m]."B,L,D". Trek (08-09 Hrs).

We will have a early morning trek to the famous Everest view point of Kala Pattar (5,545m). The trek to Kala Pattar will be demanding and will take around 2 to 3 hrs. If the weather remains in our side you will be rewarded with the best view of Mount Everest and other mountains alongside. We then walk downhill to Lobuche for the overnight stay along the Khumbu Glacier. Average trekking time is 7-8 hours.

Day 15: Trek Dingboche. [4,350 m]. ]."B,L,D". Trek (02-03 Hrs).

On this day we will be crossing the third and final pass named Kongma La Pass. We begin our trek left from Lobuche towards Kongma La Pass and descend steeply to the Khumbu Glacier after we reach the top. We clamber up the moraines on the far side to reach the meadow by the Italian high altitude research pyramid where we plan to camp the night. Todays trek will be difficult and even more harsh during the snowy conditions. We will witness excellent views of Pumori and Nuptse during the trek today. We trek through Lhangbo village to reach Chhukkung for overnight stay. Average trekking time is 7-8 hours.

Day 16: Trek Tyangboche afternoon visit Monastery. [3,880 m]. ]."B,L,D". Trek (04-05 Hrs).

After successfully conquering the three high passes we unwaveringly descend towards Tyangboche. In tyangboche, you will visit an important monastery which was built in 1912 and considered the spiritual and cultural center of this region. The monastery was destroyed by the fire in 1989 and was recently rebuilt with an aid from Sir Edmund Hillary. As this area is a devout Buddhist region, the wild life is unharmed so there is always a possibility that we may see some wild animals such as musk deer, mountain goat and Pheasants in the forest. Average trekking time is 5-6 hours.

Day 17: Trek to Namche [3,440 m]. ]."B,L,D". Trek (04-05 Hrs).

After breakfast in Tyangboche we head towards Namche Bazaar away from the towering Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse. It is a smooth and pleasant walk through Phunki Tenga and into the Namche Bazaar as the traill continues from the terraced rice fields which are home to brightly coloured pheasant, the Danphe pheasant , the national bird of Nepal. We reach Namche Bazzar in the afternoon so you can visit the local shop vendors around the market for souvenir shopping. Average trekking time is 4 to 5 hours.

Day 18: Trek to Lukla [2,810 m]. "B,L,D". Trek (06-07 Hrs).

We return back to Lukla through the rhododendron and pine forests and out of the Sagarmatha National Park. We cross the raging Dudh Koshi River few times on this day. We reach Lukla after a gradual ascend out of the river valley. We will spend our last night in mountains. Average trekking time is 4 to 5 hours.

Day 19: Fly Back to Kathmandu [1,338m]. "B". (40 m). (Car).

We say goodbye to our supporting crew members and get on a flight to Kathmandu. Once you land in Kathmandu you will be transferred to the Hotel. This day is also a buffer day in case of any flight cancellation due to unfavorable weather condition. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 20: Free day in kathmandu [1,338m]. "B".

This is a free day in Kathmandu. You can visit remaining world heritage sites around the Kathmandu valley that is Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. The two palaces have great history and are well known for arts and crafts. You can also spend your day around Thamel and test restaurants of Kathmandu. We are always happy to offer you suggestions.

Day 21: Trip ends! Fly back home, taking with you the memory of a life time. "B". (Car).
